VAGY-Vidhayak Adarsh Gram Yojana

On the pattern of Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY), Vidhayak Adarsh Gram Yojana (VAGY) has been started on 6th July, 2015 in the State. Under this scheme, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) will identify initially one village of population 3000-5000 other than his/her own village or that of his/her spouse to be developed by 2016 and further two such villages to be developed upto 2019. The first villages would be developed by March, 2016, second by Sept., 2018 and third by Sept., 2019. This is 100% State Sponsored Scheme. These villages will be developed as Adarsh Gram using convergence with various Centrally Sponsored and State Schemes to motivate the neighbouring villages to make their villages as Adarsh Village. Besides this upto Rs.1.00 crore will be provided to each such village for development works. As per instructions of State Finance Commission, requisite funds will be provided in the accounts of concerned GPs/Sarpanches through HRDA.

There are 90 MLAs in Haryana State who are adopting villages in Phases of the scheme. The Deputy Commissioners of the concerned districts have been appointed as the Nodal officer of the villages under this scheme. A Base Line Survey in the prescribed format is done in the selected villages. The Gram Sabha and on the basis of the outcomes of the survey a Village Development Plan is prepared in which priority of works are decided by the concerned MLA. These VDPs are discussed in the district level committee with the officers of the concerned departments. The execution of the works of VDP are done as per the timeline.
